Zepo Intelligence Secures €12.8M to Redefine AI-Driven Workplace Security
February 4, 2026
Have you thought about the threats AI can bring apart from its effectiveness and intelligent work? Nowadays, many organizations use AI, which transforms the way they work. However, what’s even more important is that it comes with some risks of AI-related attacks. That’s why, to tackle this problem, Spain-based Zepo Intelligence has raised €12.8 million in Seed funding. Their plan is to fight AI-powered social engineering. The round was backed by Kibo Ventures, eCAPITAL, and TIN Capital. Moreover, the funding will be used to scale the company’s technology globally and grow its AI and data engineering teams.
Zepo Intelligence positions itself as the first agentic social intelligence platform for workspace security. To tackle modern issues, Zepo Intelligence refused to use static training programs or email filters. Instead, their idea was to enable organizations to simulate real-world, AI-driven attacks (deepfakes, voice calls, personalized phishing, etc.). This would help to identify human vulnerabilities before attackers do.
“AI is the core of our platform,” says Enrique Holgado, CPTO and co-founder. “For engineers looking to work at the frontier of AI and cybersecurity, Zepo offers the ideal environment to build technology with global impact.”
Rethinking Cybersecurity in the Age of Generative AI
Zepo believes that traditional cybersecurity methods don’t work anymore. And we, at IGF, support this point of view. With the AI, there are more and more social engineering attacks. Moreover, they’re becoming more sophisticated and bigger. Citing World Economic Forum data, the company notes a 1,200% surge in social engineering attacks since the launch of ChatGPT. That contributed to over $1 trillion in losses in 2024 alone.
“Artificial Intelligence has turned social engineering into one of the biggest challenges society faces today,” explains Antonio Muñoz, CEO and co-founder. “The most serious security failures don’t begin with systems. They begin with people.”
Zepo’s platform combines human risk management with live threat detection. This approach gives the possibility to protect employees’ data in real-time. This makes security more reliable because it protects you before a fraudulent message turns into a financial transfer, credential leak, or data breach.
Zepo plans to expand to Europe and the US, now operating in New York, Madrid, Tel Aviv, and Mexico City. One of the milestones of the company is its recognition by Google as one of the world’s 15 most innovative AI and cybersecurity startups.
At IGF, we believe startups like Zepo Intelligence make cybersecurity more reliable and modern, facing the issues that are relevant at the moment. By connecting ambitious startups with the right investors, we help both parties benefit from the collaboration.
