Nowadays, as more and more people and businesses are looking for sustainability and eco-friendliness, the transition to sustainable energy is a must. What’s more, with the growing number of EV owners, efficient AI-powered EV charging solutions are crucial. That’s why, Brussels-based startup Pleevi has recently secured €1 million. The idea is to expand their AI-driven smart charging technology across Europe. The funding round, supported by Angelwise, Seeder Fund, Noshaq Energy, QBIC III Fund, and angel investor Loïc Bar, gives a clear understanding that Pleevi’s approach to energy management is a new step forward.

A Smarter Approach to EV AI-powered Charging

So, what differentiates Pleevi’s chargers from conventional ones? Pleevi’s AI forecasts energy flows 24 hours in advance. One more thing to differentiates them from conventional charges is the possibility to analyze different conditions. Pleevi’s AI can analyze weather, energy consumption and renewable energy availability. With those features to analyze, Pleevi’s changes become low-cost and prevent grid overloads.

“Our charging process is predictive,” says Wout Lagae, Co-founder and CEO of Pleevi. “We maximize renewable energy usage while ensuring grid stability. On a sunny day, for instance, we anticipate solar energy availability and adjust charging accordingly.”

Scalability and Market Impact

Pleevi startup was founded in 2024, and originally was a spin-off of VITO (a partner in EnergyVille). Nowadays, Pleevi works in such countries as Belgium, Germany, and France. They also partner with Phoenix Contact and VMA (part of the CFE Group). By 2027, the company wants to expand the amount of charges up to 25,000.

The revolutionary AI-driven chargers are cost-effective and are one more step into using less fossil fuel. Pleevi’s chargers combine solar power and batteries. This, in turn, creates a demand and benefits both businesses and EV owners.

Investor Confidence and Future Prospects

Marc Mommaerts, Managing Partner of Angelwise, underlines the importance of Pleevi’s impact: “It optimizes renewable energy use, strengthens grid stability, and delivers strong returns.”

Angel investor Loïc Bar adds, “As electrification accelerates, flexible power systems are essential. Pleevi enables smarter, more efficient AI-powered charging solutions.”
