At the Impulse Generator Fund, we support startups that transform industries. Today, we’d like to tell you about Ver.iD, a Dutch SaaS platform for digital identity verification. Thus, the company became an innovator who is changing the industry. With recent achievements and bold plans, Ver.iD shows in their example, how innovations can make a real difference.

Foundation and Challenges

Founded in 2022, Ver.iD has secured €2 million in angel funding to prepare for eIDAS 2.0, a European regulation standardizing digital identity. Nowadays, they’re in search of another €4 million to expand and develop in Europe.

As AI risks have become a common thing, like fraud and data breaches, Ver.iD has developed a platform that makes sure you only get customer data which is essential. Such an approach protects privacy and simplifies onboarding. What’s more, fully compliant with ISO27001, NIS2, and DORA, Ver.iD offers much better and more robust security for businesses to avoid fraud and other risks connected with AI.

Leading Europe’s Digital Transformation

As technical progress continues, eIDAS 2.0 will require banks and insurers to integrate digital ID apps. And here comes Ver.iD with their solution of combining security, compliance, and user-friendly design, enabling seamless integration of ID wallets while giving users control over their data.

Ver.iD is already delivering results for key clients:

  • Verbond van Verzekeraars and Nationale Nederlanden: Simplified car insurance applications.
  • Municipality of Nijmegen: Enhanced digital onboarding.
  • Compliance wise: Supported 200 accounting firms with identification regulations.

Moreover, Pilot projects with the Chamber of Commerce are exploring how ID wallets can unlock executive authorization data.

A Promising Future

Drawing comparisons to Dutch fintech leader Adyen, Ver.iD transforms digital identity with security, usability, and scalability. Its platform ensures maximum data protection without storing customer information.

“We are proud of the trust our investors and clients have placed in us,” says Robert van Altena, co-founder of Ver.iD. “Our goal is to become an international leader and set the standard for digital identity in Europe.”
