One more cool piece of news from a European startup. Sofia-based EnduroSat startup secured $104 million in fresh funding. It’s important to consider that this funding is one of the largest recent rounds in the region’s space sector. In addition, the investment was backed by Riot Ventures, Google Ventures, Lux Capital, the European Innovation Council Fund, and Shrug Capital.

At IGF, we closely follow startups that turn complex ideas into scalable businesses. EnduroSat is a strong example of how focused execution and long-term vision attract global investors.

Looking ahead, EnduroSat is planning to build two ESPA-class satellites per day. That’s where they are planning to spend the funding. The plan to build these satellites came from a slow time-to-orbit issue. Faster manufacturing means quicker launches and more predictable deployment for constellation operators.

A New Space Centre Built for Scale

The funding coincides with the opening of EnduroSat’s new Space Centre in Sofia. The facility spans over 188,000 square feet and significantly expands the company’s operational capacity.

An important thing about the center is that it brings all the key processes in one place. Moreover, here you can find everything from RF laboratories, mechanical and hardware labs, ISO-certified clean rooms, to the full space qualification facilities. It allows teams to design and test launch readiness.

Why This Matters for the Startup Ecosystem

When established in 2015, their main idea was to design, build, and operate CubeSats and nanosatellites for commercial and scientific missions. The company also develops inter-satellite links and data-driven applications. Now, in 2025, their mission is clear: make space more accessible. The startup allows organizations to scale their space ambitions faster and more affordably.

As we observe all the bright startup stories, we see this story as a driver of successful innovations. With fresh capital, a new Space Centre, and growing demand, EnduroSat is well-positioned to shape the next phase of space access in Europe and beyond. Stay tuned to read more startup stories from IGF!
