$50M Raised: Read AI’s Big Step Toward ‘Copilot Everywhere’
November 21, 2024The Seattle startup Read AI raises $50M in Series B to continue further developing its AI-powered productivity tools. Founded by David Shim in 2021, the company develops cross-platform communications services with video calls, email, and messaging. These tools are gathered all-in-one for seamless collaboration between teams.
Nowadays, 75% of Fortune 500 companies use the tool. Surprisingly, the company adds 100,000 accounts a week without spending on marketing at all. Read AI can analyze and collect data from Gmail, Outlook, Slack, and CRM systems to make follow-up seamless. A “copilot everywhere” provides insights, recommends actions, and amplifies productivity across the board.
Expanding Reach Through Integration
The AI strategy extends beyond meetings and now allows integration with Teams and other services for a wider impact. The system summarizes discussions, connects to relevant tools, and automates workflows. At the same time, it lowers communication barriers. Now, individual users can test the software, which often encourages broader adoption within companies.
Facing Competition Head-On
Read AI competes with tech giants like Microsoft, Google, and Zoom, which offer similar tools, and other AI-driven startups. However, you may ask how this AI tool differs from others. The answer is it has the ability to work across platforms. At the same time, the price for this tool is quite reasonable: from $15 to $40 per user, with a free tier available, allowing easier access and adoption.
Having already collected $81 million in total funding, Read AI plans to double its workforce of 40 to meet increasing demand. Shim envisions further integration capabilities and a larger presence in the enterprise software market.
